1984 Labor Day Camp Meeting Music

Recorded by Glen Miller, The founder of Lake Hamilton Bible Camp.
Nina Orchard was a co-worker here. She worked in the LHBC camp kitchen for many years in the 1980s. She loved to praise the Lord. She made the best peanut butter pie I ever had. YUM! Jim Orchard her husband did the cement work here. The foundation for our two-story 80×100 steel building, plus its basement foundation walls. We all helped him. There is no job description here. You just got to be willing to do anything asked of you. Like pulling nails out of endless forms, then stacking them to be reused later. Or helping to do hand sanding of sheetrock in a 14,000 SF building. We looked like a ghost at the end of the day, except behind our masks. Jim did carpentry in the basement, main floor, as well as the second story dorms too. Plus the retaining walls around the playground area. When there was nothing to do, Glen had us picking up fallen tree limbs on these 140 acres. They raised their five children here on the campground for many years. They later moved back to where they were from in MO. state. It’s now 10/26/2020 as of this posting. Nina is still alive. Jim had passed a few years back. Their kids have grown and are now parents themselves. One is the city mayor of his town. Her one boy Jamie, came through here with his own son, to show him where he used to live. That was a real treat for Patti & me. Kevin, LHBC staff.
