09LCCD2-1 – Carla Butaud – A MARRIAGE RESURRECTED (Part 1)
Carla shares testimony of how God resurrected her marriage of 34 years as of today. When she was saved in 1977 everything changed except her husband. She thought having children, being a wife and mother was happiness. It was then she began to die; resentment of life, husband and her role. But today she has a different perspective. Then – lonely, etc, which lead to depression, husband and wife being in the same house but being alone. Both were lost. Ps 127 without God there are no answers. Angry against God, she cried out to Him and He instantly healed her of depression. She received life but the marriage was dead. She asked God to fix it. Titus 2:3. The older women need to teach the younger women to be wives who love their husbands and children. God told Carla to greet her husband home from work like she would like to greet God Himself. So she did. You don’t have to feel it to obey God. Matt 8:2, 9:18, 15:25. Worship is a posture of submission. Eph 5:22, Phil 4:6 – as unto the Lord. Make your requests known to God, and then ask your husband. Submission is good. If done in the right manner it will cause him to want Jesus. I Pet 3:1-4, I Cor 7:14. Give him to God and relax, treat him as if he is saved. Acts 26:18. In two weeks her husband accepted Jesus. (To Be Continued). Prayer for individuals follows, then prayers for husbands, sons and family members.

09LCCD2-2 – Cindy Parish – FINDING VICTORY IN TIMES OF BONDAGE
This teaching is entwined with Cindy’s testimony and scripture. She came to Jesus at the age of 13. She explains their ministry in Latin America and being in the US now for 3 years. We are where we are in life “for such a time as this”. Cindy centers this teaching on Jer 29: 4-14, specifically 29:11. God explains what His plan is. God has thoughts towards us. His thoughts are His plans for our life. Isa 55:8 God’s thoughts are so far above ours; they are His plans for our life. God’s plans can put us out of our comfort zone. Vs 28 tells us we need to settle in and accept His plan; we are here for the long haul. Jer 27:9. We can sometimes manipulate people to tell us what we want to hear. False words lead people into rebellion. Rom 8:28, Jam 1:1-4, I Pet 1:6 are some of the scripture references. Suffering that produces life and fruit in our lives is what we have when we know Him. “Know the story behind the glory” is about knowing what people have been through that are sharing the story. Cindy shares 5 things we can do while we are in captivity (going through the trials): 1) Jer. 29:5 – be active; build a house, plant gardens, make plans, be peaceful and settle down 2) Jer. 29:6 – be fruitful; produce fruit in a time of bondage, be diligent 3) Jer. 29:7 – forgiveness; if we are going to be free we have to forgive others and forgive God 4) Seek the peace and prosperity of all around you; bless those who persecute you, your husband, and etc. 5) Jer. 29:12-14 seek Him and He will be found by you; even in your time of captivity. God gives grace to face mistakes and He will walk with you and give you favor. Ps 107:20, 29:14.

09LCCD2-3 – Mary-Etta Hinkle – IDOLATRY (Part 1)
Behind every binding in our lives is an idol. Lev 7:29 no one can give your thanks for you. Isa 57:14 it’s the little things that sink us and cause us to stumble. Mary-Etta share several idolatries that she had and explains each with testimony in her life. She says her grandmother had a “matriarchal spirit” over her family. She had to get rid of the quilt her grandmother made to break it. Mary-Etta’s faith was tested in the midst of trials for 10 years. Jer 20:7. The second idolatry is father. Regression therapy is when you try to regress the person back to where the problem started. Just forgive your father, don’t try to bring it all back. Psa 37:34a. A lesser aggressive behavior is a nice way of saying getting a little violent. The third idolatry is to pastors. You can’t let your spiritual life be an idol. God doesn’t want us to look to a man of God – only to Jesus. There is a fine line between control and God-given authority. Mary-Etta shares about her schizophrenia. Jesus set her free! She closes with a song. I sat down under His Shadow.

09LCCD2-4 – Carla Butaud – A MARRIAGE RESURRECTED (Part 2)
Acts 1:8 you shall be witnesses unto Me, Jesus. After being healed of depression Carla and her family got in church and into its entire works. Then God took her out of it all. She said a prayer, asking to know God and be the wife and mother pleasing to Him. Go to I Cor 13 to learn about love. Then God showed her herself; said He was pleased with her but to be the witness she must be in her own family. Gen. 3:12 – Eve became offended at Adam and we still blame one another until today. Adam anger / Eve anger. She shares of learning to put her body under subjection when discovering Jesus paid for her freedom from Eve’s curses. Satan does not want unity in marriage. Eph 5:22 – It doesn’t happen all at once but when we begin to honor, be respectful and kind to our husband, he will take his place as the head of the family. I Cor 7:4 when you begin to exercise Gods’ power in your home, the enemy does not like it and will oppose you. Carla shares personal examples of these teachings. I Cor 7:10 God made her marriage new and can do the same for others. God is able to make something that is dead, alive. Never lose hope. Teach others. Carla closes with prayer.

09LCCD2-5 – Mary-Etta Hinkle – IDOLATRY (Part 2)
The Lord warned that Mary-Etta’s daughter had to be rescued from the violet man. Later he did kill a man. I Tim 2:15 ? She and they shall be saved – if they continue-faith, love, holy living etc. Mary-Etta shares more idolatry she had to be freed from. 1) Idolatry to children – she shares testimony of her 4 children including teen years when rebellion set in. A business opportunity she and her son were to operate for 12 years with prayer every day. Gen 3:12, 16 ? the curse. Gal 3:11. Her children came against her about what she had written in her book. Isa 8:18, 54:18. Today has brought much reconciliation and blessings. 2) Idolatry to pain of motherhood – Matt 10:35-38 She shares a letter written to all her children to help them understand their mother. She told them about her psychiatric friends and how she was getting free of all this hassle and going to stay free. The Lord said, “Pain of motherhood spirit leave”, and it did. But the Lord said you can’t get rid of motherhood pain in this world. She shares examples.

09LCCD2-6 – Cindy Parish – DELIVERANCE FROM DESPAIR
What do you do when you face despair? We look at the story of David from I Sam 30. Be of good cheer for I have overcome says the Lord. She gives a background of the story. David decided to leave the country and go where the Philistines are. He was out of the country living in Ziklag. They burned everything and took David’s 2 wives. Vs. 6 – but David strengthened himself in the Lord his God. Vs. 8 – God said to David, “Pursue for you shall surely overtake them and you shall surely rescue all.” Some of David’s army were angry and became discouraged. Discouragement is lack of courage and becomes despair. There is a saying “Hurt people, hurt people”. This is what the enemy did in David’s men. They turned against David. David could have depended on them but there was no one to depend on but God. Encouragement brings hope but discouragement brings despair. Encourage means to bind, to cleave to. Self-pity also comes on board when we have discouragement and despair. If despair is not dealt with it can become a root of bitterness. Eph 3:16, 6:10 be strong and mighty in the power of God. Isa 44:20 – a people who eat ashes. It is deception by the enemy. Sometimes it is convenient to live there, in the ashes. What is your Ziklag? Here are things David did which we need to do when in despair: 1) Remembrance – he recalled the goodness of the Lord; remembers the encouragement of the Lord. Stubbornness is steadfastness when the Holy Ghost is in it. References for remembrance: Psa 77:11, 20:7, 42:6, 105:5, 143:5, Lam 3:18-23 when we are in despair don’t wallow in our despair. Vs. 9 Besor brook means cheerfulness – stay by the brook until you are ready to move out. 2) Seek the Lord’s guidance – do not resort to your own plan. Never make a decision when you are in a moment of despair. Psa 138:3 3) Turn your thoughts towards God 4) Don’t let circumstances get the best of you. Treat others fairly. Misery loves company. 5) Pursue the enemy – take back what was stolen from us. Cindy closes with prayer.
